Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek releases on November 20, 2026 as a Universes Beyond crossover. Announced at MagicCon Atlanta, the set pulls crews, adversaries, and starships from across 60 years of Star Trek into Magic. A dedicated Star Trek Commander set (TRC) ships alongside the main expansion, so the release includes Commander precons.

Wizards has not yet announced the full precon lineup or decklists. The first face commander spoiled is Captain Kirk, Boldly Going, a Bant (green-white-blue) mythic with vigilance that buffs your Spacecraft creatures and tutors up a basic land or Starship Enterprise. His card text signals that the Spacecraft type, introduced in Edge of Eternities, returns here. As precons are revealed and Archidekt decklists publish, each will appear below with playrate, win rate, ELO, average game length, and a one-click Playtest in Playgroup Live button.

Set codes on Scryfall: TRK (main expansion) and TRC (Star Trek Commander). Card spoilers on this page update daily from Scryfall as previews continue.

Star Trek FAQ

When does Star Trek MTG release?
Magic: The Gathering Star Trek releases on November 20, 2026 as a Universes Beyond set. The set codes are TRK for the main expansion and TRC for the Star Trek Commander cards.
What Commander precons come with Star Trek?
A dedicated Star Trek Commander set (TRC) ships with the release, so the set includes Commander precons, but Wizards has not yet announced the full lineup or decklists. The first face commander spoiled is Captain Kirk, Boldly Going. Each precon will appear here with a one-click playtest once decklists publish.
What is the Spacecraft type in Star Trek?
Spacecraft is a card type introduced in Edge of Eternities, charged up with the station keyword until it becomes a creature you can attack with. Captain Kirk, Boldly Going buffs Spacecraft creatures and tutors for Starship Enterprise, which signals Spacecraft returns in Star Trek. Wizards has not yet published a full Star Trek mechanics article.
Which Star Trek commanders have been spoiled?
So far one face commander has been revealed: Captain Kirk, Boldly Going, a green-white-blue (Bant) mythic Legendary Creature. He has vigilance, gives your Spacecraft creatures +3/+3, and tutors a basic land or Starship Enterprise to hand when he enters or attacks. More commanders will be added here as previews continue.
Can I playtest the Star Trek precons before buying?
The Playtest button lights up once full decklists publish on Archidekt. Until then this page tracks the set's spoilers and confirmed commanders, and precon stats appear as soon as the decks are revealed.
Are the Star Trek Commander cards Standard legal?
Cards in the main TRK set are Standard legal. The Commander-only cards in the TRC Star Trek Commander set are legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage but not Standard.
