Star Trek MTG release date: when does it come out?
Star Trek releases on November 13, 2026. Prerelease events run November 6 to November 12, 2026.
Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek releases on November 13, 2026 as a Universes Beyond crossover, with prerelease events November 6-12. The set pulls crews, adversaries, and starships from across 60 years of Star Trek into Magic, and a dedicated Star Trek Commander set (TRC) ships alongside the main expansion.
The July 2026 First Look named all four Commander precons, each in a three-color identity: Federation Fleet (Jeskai, starships and card draw from the Picard and Janeway eras), Landing Party (Bant, landfall and away-team exploration from the original series), Klingon Fury (Mardu, aggressive Warrior combat), and We Are the Borg (Esper, artifact creatures built around the new Assimilate mechanic). Face commanders and decklists are not confirmed yet. Twenty-eight legendary permanents are spoiled across the two sets so far, including Captain Kirk, Boldly Going, Picard, Steadfast Captain, Spock, Logical Choice, Borg Queen, Perfection Manifest, Seven of Nine, Captain Kathryn Janeway, Captain James T. Kirk, and the U.S.S. Enterprise-D, Galaxy-Class, a legendary Spacecraft. The newest wave fills out the Next Generation bridge with Will Riker, Assuming Command, Worf, Chief Tactical Officer, and La Forge, Perceptive Engineer, and reaches into the wider timeline with T'Pol, Vulcan Representative, Kruge, Genesis Seeker, General Chang, Cold Warrior, Christine Chapel, Combat Medic, V'Ger, the Intruder, and Lower Decks' Badgey, Malicious Glitch, alongside earlier previews of ensigns Brad Boimler, Eager Ensign and Beckett Mariner, Impetuous Ensign and Enterprise's Hoshi Sato, Exolinguist. The set also introduces Assimilate, Face a Dilemma, and Federation as new mechanics, while Spacecraft and station return from Edge of Eternities. As decklists publish on Archidekt, the precons will appear below with playrate, win rate, ELO, average game length, and a one-click Playtest in Playgroup Live button.
Set codes on Scryfall: TRK (main expansion) and TRC (Star Trek Commander). Card spoilers on this page update daily from Scryfall as previews continue.
Star Trek MTG Spoiler Season
Wizards has not announced a start date for full preview season. Previews opened with the July 2026 First Look, which named the four Commander precons and the set's new mechanics, and the official Star Trek Card Image Gallery fills in as cards are revealed. Recent sets have begun full previews three to four weeks before release, which would place Star Trek previews in mid to late October 2026.
Every card Scryfall publishes lands on the Star Trek card list here within 24 hours, newest first, covering both TRK and TRC. The set is confirmed for MTG Arena, though Wizards has not published a digital release date.
Star Trek Prerelease Guide
Prerelease events run November 6 through November 12, 2026, the week before the November 13 release. The format is Sealed. Build a 40-card deck from the Play Boosters in your Prerelease Pack plus basic lands supplied by the store, then play casual rounds. Find an event through the Wizards store locator.
Two things changed with the October 2026 Reality Fracture release and carry into this one. At-Home Prerelease kits were retired globally, so Star Trek Prerelease is an in-store event, and Two-Headed Giant teams now receive one Prerelease Pack plus two Play Boosters instead of two Prerelease Packs.
Star Trek Product Lineup
Beyond Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, the set ships two Scene Boxes (Divergent Timeline and Enterprise-Q), a Beginner Box for new players, a four-player Draft Night kit, and a standard Bundle plus a premium Beam Me Up Bundle. The four Commander decks also come in Surge Foil Collector's Edition versions.
Star Trek Welcome Decks
Five monocolor Welcome Decks accompany the set, one each in white, blue, black, red, and green. Each holds a 40-card deck, a reference card, and a deck box, built from TRK and TRC cards.
Welcome Decks are Wizards' teaching product rather than a booster purchase. Participating WPN game stores will carry them, and they are also being handed out at ST:LV, the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas. Ask your local store how it plans to distribute them.
