The Mystery Booster Commander Edition card list shows every card Scryfall lists under the set code MBC, updated daily: 80 cards so far, 61 of them legendary. The set released on October 19, 2026, with Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026. It is a Commander Draft product rather than a normal expansion: 20-card boosters built for drafting Commander decks, with no preconstructed decks in the lineup.
The set draws from a pool of over 2,000 cards, mostly legendary reprints, plus 60 new-to-Magic commanders. The headline mechanic is Rulebreaker, an ability word on eight commanders designed together with the Commander Format Panel. Each Rulebreaker bends one specific deckbuilding rule; Tolabow, Loch Rascal, for example, lets its deck run instants and sorceries of one chosen color outside its color identity. Other firsts include Ashaya's Enduring Bond, the first legendary sorcery that can be your commander, a cycle of five monocolored planeswalker commanders, and Alchemy designs such as Tsagan, Raider Warlord coming to paper. The new cards become legal in Commander on November 13, 2026, with the MagicCon: Atlanta release, and in Legacy, Vintage and the other Eternal formats on January 1, 2027. They are not legal in Standard, Pioneer or Modern.
Where to Get Mystery Booster Commander Edition
This is a convention-first product, not a normal store release. It debuted at Gen Con 2026. The first full boxes went on sale on October 19, 2026 in Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 on MagicSecretLair.com, which contains one 24-booster box of Mystery Booster Commander Edition, a Secret Gallery: Atlanta foil drop and four promo cards. The set goes on wide sale at MagicCon: Atlanta (November 13-15, 2026), then travels with the 2027 MagicCons: Detroit in February, Tokyo in May, Las Vegas in August, and Amsterdam in December. Wizards has not announced a WPN game store or mass retail release, so supply outside conventions may stay tight.

How do you draft Mystery Booster Commander Edition?
The set uses 20-card boosters made for Commander Draft: three commons or uncommons of each color, a reprint wildcard, a rare or mythic reprinted commander, a new-to-Magic commander, a special card, and a playtest card. Players draft packs and build Commander decks from their picks, using relaxed deckbuilding rules compared to constructed Commander. The pool of over 2,000 cards is commander-heavy by design.
Are Mystery Booster Commander Edition cards legal in Commander?
Yes, from November 13, 2026, the MagicCon: Atlanta release, including the former Alchemy designs making their paper debut. Playtest cards and acorn-stamped cards remain illegal in constructed formats, and reprints keep the legality of their original printings.
