Marvel: Darkhold Destiny

Marvel: Darkhold Destiny releases on April 9, 2027. Wizards announced it on October 10, 2026 as a Universes Beyond set about the dark side of the Marvel Universe: Dormammu and Hela use a page of the Darkhold to tear open the walls between realities. It follows the 2025 Spider-Man set and Marvel Super Heroes (June 2026).

Four Commander decks ship with the set, with surge foil Collector's Editions: Lords of Hel (black-red, tokens and sacrifice, with Hela on the box), Midnight Sons (white-black, life gain and Vampires, with Blade), Gods of Asgard (red-green-white, power matters and "godlike gear", with Thor), and Strange Academy (white-blue-black, spellcasters and blink, with Doctor Strange). The commander cards and decklists are not revealed yet. Once they are, every precon shows up below with its decklist, commander stats, and a one-click Playtest in Playgroup Live button.

What we know about Marvel: Darkhold Destiny so far

The set tells an original story in the Marvel Universe. The Darkhold, a book the world's greatest sorcerers kept sealed, is opened, and Wizards says "Hel is empty": devils, sorcerers, witches, werewolves, and vampire-hunting vampires all appear. The first previews are Hela, Mistress of Darkness, Magik, Illyana Rasputin, The Darkhold, Rise from the Nether, and Gargantos, the Endbringer, the first card Scryfall lists in the Commander set.

Marvel: Darkhold Destiny in the 2027 MTG release schedule

Darkhold Destiny releases between Nauctis: The Sunken Realm (February 5, 2027) and Kamigawa: Titanbreach (June 4, 2027), with Zhalfir following on October 1. It is the first of 2027's three Universes Beyond sets to be named. The full MTG release schedule tracks every set as dates are confirmed.
