Zhalfir

Zhalfir releases on October 1, 2027, giving the restored plane its first standalone Magic set. Announced at MagicCon Amsterdam in July 2026, Wizards bills it as "a land of suns and spirits". Zhalfir was phased back into existence during March of the Machine, replacing New Phyrexia, and this set is the first full visit since.

What we know about the Zhalfir set so far

Wizards announces that the kingdom of Zhalfir has reentered the Multiverse as its own plane, and that this set showcases it like never before: lush with vibrant magic, rooted in its storied past, and with its people finding their place in the Multiverse. The planeswalker Teferi Akosa returns to his home plane. The announcement frames Zhalfir as an afrofantasy-themed world with innovative new forms of magic alongside designs that honor Magic's legacy; the product page tagline is "A land of suns and spirits".

Zhalfir in the 2027 MTG release schedule

Wizards has announced three Magic Multiverse sets for 2027: Nauctis: The Sunken Realm (February 5), Kamigawa: Titanbreach (June 4), and Zhalfir (October 1). Three Universes Beyond sets alternate with them across the year, none named or dated yet. The full MTG release schedule tracks every set as dates are confirmed.
